Jab bhi jazbon ke liye alfaz nashtar ho gaye
Kaise kaise phool jaise haath khanjar ho gaye
(Whever knives of words attack emotions
flower-like tender hands turn into daggers)
Deo qaamat wo shajar jab tez andhi mein gira
Pasta-qad jitne they paude sab qad-aawar ho gaye
(When that giant tree fell in strong winds
all the dwarf plants suddenly became tall)
neem faqa, neem uryani ko andar chhod kar
Ghar se bahar jab qadam rakkha, sikandar so gaye
(Leaving the house while being half-fed and half-clad
We became king soon after stepping out of the house)

Chhoo liya ham ney to sab yaklakhat patthar ho gaye
