सोच रहा होगा शायद जुड़ पाए गा ये दोबारा क्या
बच्चा चुप-चुप क्यों बैठा है फूट गया गुबबारा क्या

दूब के ऊपर ऐसे ही बैठोगे लब-ए-फ़व्वारा क्या
पार्क ये तुम से पूछ रहा है, आओगे फिर दोबारा क्या

सब इस की रफ़्तार से हारे, ताइर क्या तय्यारा क्या
हम को तेरा ई मेल सलामत, क़ासिद क्या हरकारा क्या

डाल कभी इस काफिर के ऊपर भी दहशत का साया
इंसानों को मारने वाले तू ने दिल को मारा क्या

मात है हर मैयार-ए-तगय्युर उस के तलव्वुन के आगे
देखना है तो उसको देखो, देख रहे हो पारा क्या

सब है मज़ाहिर इश्क के मुस्लिम काबा, अक्सा, ताज महल
प्यार न हो तो सब पत्थर हैं मर्मर, असवद, खारा क्या

GHAZAL

Soch raha hoga shayad jud paayega ye dobaara kya
bachcha chup chup kyun baitha hai phoot gaya ghubbara kya
(He may be thinking can this be sewn together again
Why is the child is sitting benumbed, has his balloon pricked?


doob ke upar aise hi baithoge lab-e-fawwara kya
park he tum se pooch raha hai, aaoge phir dobaara kya
(Will you sit in the same manner near the fountain again
the park is asking you 'will you come back again')


sab iski raftaar se haare, taair kya tayyara kya
ham ko tera e-mail salaamat, qaasid kya, harkaara kya
(It has left everything behind be it bird or aeroplane
now we have emails instead of messengers or postmen)


daal kabhi is kaafir ke oopar bhi dahshat ka saaya
insaano ko maarne wale, too ne dil ko maara kya
(O terrorist! Cast the spell of your terror on this pagan also sometime
O ye who kills human beings, have you ever suppressed your heart)


maat hai har maiyar-e-taghayyur us kay talawwun ke aage
dekhna hai to usko dekho, dekh rahe ho paara kya
(Every standard of transition fails before his changes of mood
look at him and not the mercury, as he is more mercurial)


Sab hain mazaahir ishq ke Muslim, kaaba, aqsaa, taj mahal
pyar no ho to sab patthar hain marmar, aswad khaara kya
(Kaaba, Aqsaa, Taj Mahal, all are expressions of love
all of them are mere stones if love is missing)
