GHAZAL

Zindagi ki tarah bikhar jaayen
kyun ham aises jiyen ke mar jaayen
(Let's spread like life which encompasses all
why should we live like dead persons)

kar di meeras warison ke sipurd
zindagi kis ke naam kar jaayen
(I have handed over my heritages to my interitors
But whom should I bequeath my life to)


ghar ki lapten bahut ghaneemat hain
har taraf aag hai kidhar jaayen
(the leaping fires of the house are bearable
{since} fire is raging everying, where should one go)


dab gaya hoon main jin mein tah-dar-tah
ye jo parten hain sab utar jayeen
(I have been buried beath them in fold by fold
I wish I can shed all these layers over my persona)

ज़िन्दगी की तरह बिखर जाएँ

क्यूँ हम ऐसे जियें के मर जाएँ

कर दी मीरास वारिसों के सिपुर्द

ज़िन्दगी किस के नाम कर जाएँ

घर की लपटें बहुत ग़नीमत हैं

हर तरफ आग है किधर जाएँ

दब गया हूँ मैं जिन में तह-दर-तह

ये जो परतें हैं सब उतर जाएँ
